Cell phone access

I'm not sure if this is a new thing or not, but it looks like our ship provides cellular service to AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and possibly Verizon customers. I called Sprint to find out the rates and was told it's $2.99/minute on board and $1.99 in Bermuda (off ship). I was also told that a free change needed to be made to my account to enable on board roaming. Lastly, my PRL needed to be current and automatic roaming turned on. Oh, and you had to make sure to dial "1" in front of all your numbers, even voicemail (according to the rep).
I guess if you absolutely needed to call shore or be in touch, $2.99's better than the $10/minute room phone that I remember. I enabled mine, just to be geeky. You might prefer to leave yours at home (it is a damn vacation after all!) :)
