We are home

Adria (gingerkat) and I (Mattison) are home. We had an semi-eventful trip back. Apparently three people tried to board our flight out of Frankfurt with fake passports. Sadly we missed watching the drama and only over heard the security guy chatting about it.

However when we arrived in Boston the baggage claim was crawling with police. First one of the Agriculture inspectors stopped us and ask if we were bringing food back, looked over our passport and made some marks on the declaration slip. Next as we walked towards the exit they stopped us again and did a hand search of all our luggage.

The security guy seemed particularly interested in my reading material. I understand they need to flip some pages to confirm there isn't a cut out hiding spot. This guy slowly and carefully read the front and back cover of Them: Adventures with Extremists. I told it was a good book.

After searching through all our dirty clothes he finally relented and let us through. On the plus side he did repack our luggage. Guess it was a good thing I didn't try to smuggle in any saffron.

It was a great cruise and it was cool hanging out with everyone. We will be putting in our deposits for next year in the next couple days. Adria will likely be posting pictures sometime later.

So lovely to meet you all and to make new friends, see exciting places, smile at wonderful strangers, survive exotic local transport systems... I had a fantastic time :)
